  1. Bankruptcy Exposes Artists’ Fees

    Last summer, the Sunset Junction Festival, in Los Angeles, had to cancel their event due to money issues and debt. Later on, the Sunset Junction Neighborhood Alliance filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy, which allowed court papers to show how much each performing artist was owed. It’s interesting to see how much each artist should be paid for once performance. See the list below.

    Sure Billboard album sales aren’t hitting multi-platinum in the first week of release anymore, but the market has changed. The RIAA is under the impression that the entire music industry is falling apart. This blog argues that the RIAA is just becoming less relevant and useful. What do you think?
