“It doesn’t come with any ease to announce, but the three of us have left Woe, is me.

Our differences were just too vast on so many levels: Musical, personal/moral, and professional/business.

It came to a point where we could either continue on the path they saw fit, or we could create our own path and find happiness in our own ways.

We have nothing but gratitude for all of the fans. Every handshake, high-five, hug, pat on the back, and kind word from you guys and gals means the absolute world to us.

When one door closes, another opens: and we can’t wait to see what’s on the other side of this new door.

Hope to see you on the road soon.

    Much love.”

  5. Close Your Eyes Loses Singer

Earlier in the week, reports began circulating that CLOSE YOUR EYES vocalist Shane Raymond quit the band and they would be dropping off their upcoming tour with COMEBACK KID and FOUNDATION. Unfortunately, the rumors are true. Raymond will no longer be singing for the group. Their statement is below.

Recently, there have been many rumors and assumptions about us due to our cancellation of the Symptoms & Cures tour. We regret having to cancel but it was something we needed to do for personal reasons. We appreciate the patience and support from all of our fans. Unfortunately, we have to confirm that Shane will be leaving Close Your Eyes. Touring as much as we do with few breaks in between can be difficult on anyone. The fact of the matter is, Shane has had troubles with his voice and vocal performances due to stress and physical strain. Simply put, he can no longer continue being our vocalist. Touring isn’t for everybody. Some realize it early on, others later. Shane realized he didn’t enjoy touring long ago, but still pursued the road with us despite the mental and physical struggles that came with it. We love Shane and hope for the best in whatever he does from here on out. We hope all of our fans can understand this difficult decision. We appreciate all of the support over the years and still hope to have continued love and devotion from all of you as we have to you.

In April of 2010, the 5 of us met up in Los Angeles to play some music, hang out, and talk about the future of the band. I felt privileged to be invited to get to do so, and it was an amazing couple of days. Fast forward a year and a half and we’ve put out two full lengths, shot 6 music videos, and traveled to almost 30 countries. It’s been an exhilarating time for all of us in the band and some of the most fun I’ve ever had in my music career. Which is why I’m sad today to let you all know that I am leaving Yellowcard.

This is not one of those ugly messy band member departures that seem to plague rock music. This is a personal decision, and it’s mine. Simple as I can put it, playing in a band that is on a full time touring schedule demands a balancing act of work and family that I can no longer pull off and still remain happy. As you can imagine, this was not an easy decision to make, but usually the really important ones never are.

While I feel confident in my decision, I know I’m walking away from a lot. I feel truly blessed to have been invited to such a close knit family, one that I was welcomed into completely. I’ll miss the guys, I’ll miss the shows, I’ll miss making all those ridiculous YC sessions videos. I’ll miss all of the love I got from the thousands of fans all over the world. When my former band Reeve Oliver was on tour with Yellowcard in 2005, I said onstage that all I could ever hope for was for us to attract fans who were as supportive as Yellowcard fans. I meant it then, but now I realize the full impact of the love and support you guys give. It’s immense, it’s real, and it’s completely necessary for this band to survive and to thrive.

Yellowcard has made great rock records before me, and will no doubt continue to do so without me. I will now continue on in the role that I have held for the last 13 years, that of a devoted fan.

Thanks for your time, and thanks for reading this,

    Sean O’Donnell

  11. Losing A Member of DRUGS

It is with bittersweet sentiment that we announce some news today. Our bass player, Adam Russell, has made the personal decision to move on from Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows to pursue other opportunities.

While we are happy to see him make a choice that will ultimately be best for him, of course, we are sad to see him go. Please know that we remain close friends and supporters of Adam, and that there are no hard feelings.

Rest assured this will not affect our current tour schedule. Our close friend, Tai “Never Wrong, Always” Wright, will be filling in on bass duties on the upcoming SIN Tour which starts Thursday in Chicago. Go to our Facebook page for dates & ticket links: Facebook.com/DRUGS

    Much love,

    D.R.U.G.S.

  15. Escape the Band

Escape the Fate announced a few lineup change-ups. Max Green will rejoin the group on bass after spending time recovering from addiction. Monte Money will no longer be playing guitar on tour, but will still be a creative part of the band. Filling his place will be Kevin Thrasher AKA K-Thrash (LoveHateHero). Their statement and tour dates can be found below.

DGC/Interscope Records band Escape The Fate welcomes back bassist Max Green into the band’s touring fold along with new guitarist Kevin Thrasher, substituting for Monte Money, who has decided to step away from life on the road for now.  The two join singer Craig Mabbitt and drummer Robert Ortiz to fill out the group.

Green, who took the first half of 2011 to get healthy and recover from addiction says, “I’m feeling great and am glad to be back with my band.  Escape The Fate is my life.  This is where I belong.”   Thrasher, who previously toured for years with Love Hate Hero, is excited to hit the road Escape The Fate.  Although Money will still be a creative force in the band, Thrasher has taken over lead guitar touring duties.  Known for his shredding, powerful playing, he is an enthralling addition.

Escape The Fate kicks off their new touring lineup on Saturday, August  20th in LA on the Sunset Strip Music Festival’s mainstage alongside rock legends Mötley Crüe, then will ignite stages across North America on the mainstage of the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival with Avenged Sevenfold before heading to the U.K. with Funeral For A Friend on October 23rd.

Escape The Fate was nominated for the “Best Album” Kerrang! Award 2011 for their self-titled album that debuted at #4 on the Billboard Rock album chart, #3 on the Billboard Alternative chart and #1 on the Billboard Tastemakers chart. Revolver proclaimed, “Escape The Fate made an album that treads the tightrope between good times and introspection, between rollicking rock, raging post-hardcore, and tender balladry,“ and Outburn declared “the band’s new album is a compelling modern day masterpiece.”
